James Everingham is a British film composer and producer based in Los Angeles. James discovered a passion for both music and film in his early years, and instead of a formal musical education developed his signature sound through years of playing piano and percussion by ear, combined with a love for music technology. At 17, James recorded his first feature-length film score with an orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. Shortly after, James was commissioned for the Amazon Prime series Grand Prix Driver, which led to scoring Motorsport Network’s first feature-length film, Heroes.
James’ portfolio includes commercial records, feature-length film, video games and television - including, Minecraft, NBC's Super Bowl LVI show open, and collaborations with artists across many disciplines, including Norwegian singer and songwriter AURORA on BBC's Frozen Planet II (earning him a Televisual Bulldog Award).
Additionally, James has produced and creative-directed a number of sample library instruments, including a collaboration with the Royal Albert Hall to capture their 9,999 pipe organ, Fractured Strings with Spitfire Audio and Woodchester Piano with Fracture Sounds. James presents a passionate approach to scoring and is dedicated to delivering at the highest creative and technical levels, aided by bleeding edge music technology and an ever-growing collection of unique instruments and analogue synthesizers.
Most recently, James scored BBC’s critically acclaimed crime-drama Virdee, and co-scored the upcoming Apple TV+ series Chief of War with Hans Zimmer. Chief of War is produced by Fifth Season and airs August 1st.
